Daniel Granado

Daniel Granado is one of the representative names of blues harmonica in Brazil. Born in Mogi das Cruzes (São Paulo), he has been performing professionally since 1998, building a solid career marked by authenticity, artistic consistency, and deep respect for the blues tradition.

During his time in Germany — an experience that expanded his aesthetic and technical vision of the instrument — he attended workshops and studies with musicians connected to the Harmonica Festival, such as Joe Filisko, Steve Baker, and David Barrett, further refining his musical language.

With Black Train Blues Band, he participated in projects that led him to open shows for major national and international blues artists. Over the years, he has been part of bands such as Nitroblues and Blues Session Band, in addition to consolidating his identity through his own projects.

His career includes appearances at important events such as the International Harmonica Meeting (Brazil), Harmonica Master (Germany), and Music Hall – Expomusic, as well as various Blues & Jazz festivals and significant stages dedicated to the genre.

Musically, Daniel Granado builds his sound from the tradition of classic blues, directly influenced by masters such as Little Walter, Walter Horton, Sonny Boy Williamson II, and Sonny Terry. At the same time, he engages with more contemporary approaches inspired by Charlie Musselwhite, Sugar Blue, Mark Ford, Paul Butterfield, John Popper, William Clarke, Carlos del Junco, and Howard Levy, resulting in a musical language that balances tradition, personality, and expressiveness.

In addition to his artistic career, he is the pedagogical coordinator and owner of SOUND Music School, where he develops consistent work in music education and cultural promotion. He maintains an active performance schedule alongside musician Déo Miranda in the project Encontro dos Deltas, and leads the Daniel Granado Blues Band, reaffirming his commitment to preserving and evolving blues harmonica in Brazil.
